Sophera Loudspeakers

Think of a field of ripe wheat, just touched by the merest breeze so that the sheaves quiver ever so slightly; there you have an image of ‘frisson’. Take it into the realm of sound and imagine frisson in the experience of listening to reproduced music. This degree of sensitivity is essential to my listening experience, and I build it into my speakers.

In this website, you will find original speaker designs brought to life, some brief words on what I think they can bring to your listening, and a little discussion of recorded music. My design aim is simply to hear all the music with a high degree of ‘goose-bump’ factor in the thrill sector. Frisson is a word I would like to own.
